Great tasting coffee requires deep knowledge of all the different varieties of coffee bean and how different beans work best together; this is known as blending. Blending is complex because it requires unifying different beans to create seamless, harmonious, wholesome flavours that will delight the senses.
Few understand this, let alone get it right. The secrets of blending are built up through a lifetime of experience. Combining different flavours, which are also referred to as notes, or as ‘accord’, the French word for chord, beautiful compositions can be created. It’s both an art and a science, and we’re taking it to a whole new level with our own research lab.
Experience our Unique House Blends
By synthesising our accumulated knowledge of coffee beans and experimenting with different flavour combinations, we discovered and created our unique house blends, Siena and Rilio.
Our Siena blend is made up of a mixture of coffee beans from Central America, South America, and Mocha beans. Roasted medium-dark to unearth all of its flavours, the taste profile of this full-bodied coffee, is fruity, sweet, with light acidity, and light spice.
Classed as level 4 out of 5 in terms of strength, this coffee is highly recommended as an espresso.
Our Rilio blend is made up of a mixture of coffee beans from South America, Asia, and Africa. Roasted medium-dark to unearth all of its flavours, the taste profile of this full-bodied coffee, is citric with a light nutty aftertaste. Classed as level 3 out of 5 in terms of strength, this coffee is highly recommended as a latte.
